Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Therapy

My treatment approach is an evolution in acupuncture based on the Balance Method developed by world-renowned Dr. Richard Tan. It promotes self-healing through needling of targeted acupuncture points distant from the areas of pain and discomfort. This intuitive yet highly specific practice treats the injury while leaving the area of concern needle free.

What is balance method acupuncture

Balance Method Acupuncture is an advanced system of Acupuncture that is over 2500 years old. Its foundations are based upon the philosophies of the Ba Gua, an eastern philosophy based upon mathematics; and the I Ching, one of the oldest books in the world that utilizes the Ba Gua philosophy. The concepts introduced by the I Ching & Ba Gua philosophy allow mathematical systems to be fully integrated into our view of reality. Balance Method Acupuncture is also known as, I Ching Acupuncture, Distal Acupuncture, & Dr. Tan Style Acupuncture.

This system of acupuncture is the most effective system of acupuncture for treating pain and all kinds of internal conditions.

Laser Therapy

Our laser uses advanced technology to stimulate the body's natural healing processes. The laser delivers precise bursts of light, this treatment brings a rush of oxygen-rich red blood cells, iron, T cells, and macrophages directly to the targeted area. These elements work synergistically to break up tight tissues and stubborn knots—those all-too-familiar sources of pain and tension—while white blood cells tackle any bacteria or infections, ensuring a clean and revitalized healing environment. It’s a holistic approach to relieving discomfort, promoting circulation, and boosting recovery.

Moxibustion:

Cupping is an add-on treatment that uses specially designed suction cups to create a vacuum on the skin that gently pulls in muscle and tissue to draw out toxins, stagnancy, or imbalances. If cupping is a part of your treatment plan, it will be performed briefly after your acupuncture treatment; cups may be left on for up to 20 minutes for optimal results. After treatment, many people have painless red or purple discolorations that last from a few hours to several days. These marks indicate that stagnant fluids were successfully pulled to the surface of the skin for release.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient therapy where suction is created on the skin using a glass jar or cup. This decompresses and expands tissues, drawing stagnant blood to the surface and improving circulation for healing. It is also believed to "open" the lungs, expel toxins, and enhance breathing. Cupping is used to address various ailments, including asthma, bronchitis, pain (e.g., headaches, arthritis, low back pain), digestive issues, menstrual discomfort, and restricted movement.

Gua Sha:

Gua sha is an ancient Chinese medicine technique used to relieve musculoskeletal pain, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, support the immune system, and treat respiratory illnesses. It can also release tension in restricted areas and serve cosmetic purposes, like reducing puffiness and lifting the skin. Gua means "to rub," while Sha refers to the "red marks" that appear.
